| About Us
We Started breeding Collies in 1955 with a male from the Ainsdale Kennels of Sophie & Pat Peckelis. As things usually happen he did not turn out and he was replaced by a bitch whose dam was Brandwyne and the sire was Ch. Kinmont Chadeayne of Parader background and owned by Mrs. Butler of Kinmont fame. It was through Mrs. Butler's encouragement that we are breeding Collies today.
While in Long Island, NY we were members of the Collie Club of Long Island from 1955-1960 and were fortunate to have known and learned from many of the great breeders of that time.
We moved to Florida in 1960 and started showing heavily. We continued to breed Collies in Florida for 35 years. During that time Ed was the Florida District Director for the Collie Club of America, President of the Collie Club of Greater Miami, Show Chairman for the Greater Miami Dog Club and ran the conformation training classes for the Miami and Ft Lauderdale dog clubs. Fran was President and Show Chairman for the Ft. Lauderdale Dog Club and we both organized and are charter members of the Florida Conformation Judges Association. While living in Florida Ed was an educator with the Dade County School Board and Fran was an Executive Director with a national Thoroughbred horseman's association.
Upon our retirement in 1994, we moved to Alabama and then to Georgia where we are currently located in the foothills of the north Georgia Mountains. Currently, Ed is President of the Collie Club of Georgia, First Vice-President for the Sawnee Mountain Kennel Club of Georgia and President of the Judges Association of Georgia and a member of the Collie Club of America. Fran is the Secretary for the Collie Club of Georgia and Georgia District Direct for the Collie Club of America, a member of the Judges Association of Georgia and we both are members of the Senior Conformation Judges Association. |
